Join us for four unforgettable days immersed in the artistry, culture, music, and traditions of beautiful Michoacán during the region’s most spectacular annual celebration. We will be leaving from Ajijic, Jalisco the morning of Friday, March 19, and return the afternoon of Monday, March 22, 2027.
We will experience the world-famous artisan fair in Uruapan, where master artisans from across the state gather to showcase the very best of Michoacán’s pottery, textiles, copperwork, woodcarving, lacquerware, masks, embroidery, and folk art traditions.

Highlights include:
• The magnificent annual parade filled with traditional costumes, music, dance, and regional pride
• Daily visits to artisan exhibitions featuring the finest handcrafted works in Michoacán
• Time to meet artisans, learn about their traditions, and purchase directly from them
• The vibrant atmosphere of food, culture, flowers, and celebration throughout the city
• Comfortable transportation in our Mercedes Sprinter van,  curated planning, and the ease of traveling with a small group of guests.

Our home away from home in Uruapan is a colonial-style property located at the northern entrance of the spectacular, and tranquil, Barranca del Cupatitzio National Park. The land was originally a private estate called Quinta Hurtado, owned by the wealthy Hurtado family. It was a classic quinta campestre (country estate) featuring sprawling green gardens until 1938 when it was bought by the Mexican government to conserve its lush vegetation and unique water features. The mansion was carefully preserved and transformed into the comfortable, and beautiful hotel. There is a swimming pool, restaurant, and bar.

The huge park next to the hotel  has meandering trails, waterfalls, small restaurants with great views, and an overlook of the headwaters of the Cupatitzio River.  It, and the hotel, are the perfect places to relax after our full days of events in the nearby town.

Price: $495 usd includes round trip ground transport from Ajijic to Uruapan in our Mercedes Sprinter, tolls, gas, all hotels, breakfast,  curated itinerary. To reserve your space with a non-refundable deposit of $250 usd (or peso equivalent), click on the Book Now button below, that will take you to a secure site.
